Happy B-Day!

Go on over and wish my good friend, Chelle a very happy birthday! She’s celebrating her 29th birthday for the 4th year in a row – – but don’t tell her I said that. After knowing her for what seems like forever, online (really – it’s about a year…but that’s only after we found out that our shadows crossed each other several times via the internet over the years) – – Chelle is opening her home and inviting Chris and I in for a home cooked meal Friday night when I’m in Atlanta!! I can’t wait to give her a […]

Happy Father's Day!

To all those hard working Father’s out there today – – I’m hoping you had a fabulous day! My father is currently in Iowa, at the moment. My mother bought him a hot air balloon ride and they should be finished sailing down the river. Up, up and away…… Happy Father’s Day, Dad! I gave Chris a Father’s Day card today. He’s not a biological father to anyone – – however, in the three years that he and I have been together, most especially in the last year that he has lived here, he has been more a father to […]

It's Official

Hell hath frozen over! 🙂

Kid Number One

I attended my sons graduation ceremony last night (from 8th grade – I’m not THAT old!). It was a proud moment for everyone. Today, his class is going to Great America to celebrate their last day of Middle School. It was SO hot in that gymnasium. I swear it was well over 100 degrees in there. What? No air conditioning in public schools? I’m sure, somehow, that is Bush’s fault. My Mom, Dad, my daughter and myself all sat together – fanning ourselves. It’s worth noting that his father was a no-show. He didn’t even call. Bastard. The principal talked […]

Proud Mom Moment

My daughter took FIRST PLACE in her talent show last night. She’s got herself a big ol’ blue ribbon for first place. There were 30 kids who participated….and she brought the house down with her singing. I watched her sing last night – – and had to hold back the tears, so I didn’t embarrass the poor girl. She got a standing ovation from the crowd of about 150. I was just mesmerized watching and listening to her. She nailed every note strong and confidently. I don’t remember being that confident at the age of 12. I was simply beaming […]

Whew!

Busy day that is almost ending…believe it or not. I think I’m going to have to pick and post the top three captions to my Captions, Please? post that I made earlier – – you guys have some funny shit, I’m tellin’ ya. I already have my top caption in mind – – but I’ll keep it going for another day and post my absolute top three favorites tomorrow evening…maybe someone will outdo my current fav? Spent the evening glued to my computer — doing some upgrades for some folks, and setting up services for a new hosting client. Let’s […]

Twist Again

This spring has, so far, been pretty bad as far as severe weather goes. We’re having tornado warnings again tonight – – and it has rained all day today, as it has for the past 6 days straight. My poor garden is about 2 feet under water. The plants and flowers don’t seem to mind, however – they look as green and perky as ever. My family is currently making fun of me. I freak out with tornado warnings – – they think it’s funny to watch me go nuts. So, currently – I’m a source of amusement for them. […]

Freshly Blogrolled

A buncha blogs caught my hazel-green irises over the past few days: Branille at Sit Down & Relax commented here a few times – so I checked her out. What a cutie rubber duck blog! Although, since she blogged about it, my recommendation would be that she make the move to WordPress. Just my opinion, mind you. 😉 John at Castle Argghhh! runs a fabulous miliblog. Who says size doesn’t matter? Adam takes a break and offers emailed funnies. I forwarded that one to a few people….ha! Meanderings offering blogging as therapy. Saved this one for last – so pay […]

Celebrate Good Times

Robert has his two-year blogging anniversary coming up and he’s going for 500,000 hits by the time it arrives. Go give the poor boy a click, or two or three – – it’s good to have goals!

Home Alone Blurfings

It’s not often that I’m home alone. Chris is gone. The kids are gone. It’s just me and the two cats inhabiting the household. It amazes me how very quiet this house can be! During the day – I loved it. At night, it’s beginning to feel rather lonesome. I was up early today and mowed the lawn – then got the stupid idea in my head to hand rake it. Doesn’t sound so bad, you say? You try hand raking 2 acres of lawn, then we’ll talk. Worked a little bit on some web work and web hosting details. […]
