Him n’ Her

Leaving, on a jet plane

I really shouldn’t be sitting here blogging. I have so much to do tonight – I won’t be going to bed until way way after midnight. Chris and I are leaving tomorrow night for NYC and we’ll be gone through Monday, December 1st. We’re flying into Newark and are spending the week at his mother’s country house, upstate. I’m really looking forward to meeting his mom and sister — this should be a fun trip. Even if I am nervous about meeting them for the first time 🙂 I haven’t packed yet, and we are, literally, leaving for the airport […]

On his way

I love the Delta Airlines website – I can plug in the number of a flight and check to see where in the world it is at the moment. Currently, C’s plane is ‘in-flight’ and scheduled to land at 7:20. Just making note that he was SUPPOSED to land at 6:36! grumble. But at least he’s on his way home, finally. It’s been a long, long 11 days! whine.

He says I'm a nut

C. says I’m a nut. He wants no part of it. He only helped me with it because he says he knows it will make me happy. He claims it was all part of my master plan to mold him into a quirky mid-westerner. He stood outside on the lawn, in the front yard — admiring the fine holiday display and yelled at the cars passing by….”YES! WE ARE DERRANGED!”

Pooped

I’m pooped. Lots-o-hard-work this weekend – – but well worth it all. C. came home from his business trip on Friday night – we spent a nice, quite night of enjoying each other’s company after a week apart. Then Saturday and Sunday were spent working on getting the house put together. Well, not completely… I had a patient visit to do on Saturday morning. This is the same family who taught me the magic of making Ghee and taught me how to make my own greeting cards – – very creative family, really! When I was finished doing my visit […]

Flower Power

Went to the garden center today and spent way too much money. I’m not complaining – – I love to do it! Came home and spent the rest of the afternoon digging around in the dirt – planting flowers from seed. We’ll see how it all turns out. Let’s see – – I planted Zinnias, Sweet Peas, HollyHocks, Marigolds, Daisys, Impatiens and SnapDragons. It should be very pretty by the time it all blooms. I usually don’t grow from seed. I usually wait until around mid-June and head to the Garden Center and purchase a few flats of the already […]

Something Fishy

Almost done with the old townhouse. There are just a few odds n’ ends over there that I need to deal with. This afternoon, I finally got the aquarium taken apart and only one fish perished. I brought it back home (to the new house) and set it up. No small task with a 100 gallon fish tank, let me tell you! But I did it all by myself – – ain’t ‘cha proud? I saw a hummingbird today! He was at my hummingbird feeder for a split second – – took his little sip and flittered away. It was […]

Whew!

We actually did it! We’re in the new house now – – can’t say that we are completely settled in – – but we’re actually living, eating and sleeping here. It took some doing, let me tell you. C. arrived into town at about 8am Saturday morning. He pulled the truck up to the new house and I woke up and drove out to pick him up. I was still wearing my PJ’s!! I was that excited to see him – – I didn’t even get dressed for the occassion – – just pulled on a pair of slippers, threw […]

One Week Left!

One more week to go. He is leaving on Tuesday to make his long drive across the country to move here. He’s been pretty stressed with all the pressures that come along with packing up your entire life and moving it across the country. It’s got to be somewhat difficult – – but even in his stress, he is happy and sounds excited about his up and coming new life. I am, too. Quite honestly – time is going by so slowly for me ever since we got this house. C. will tell you otherwise. Time, for him, is going […]

Not mechanically inclined

Yesterday I did a brainless thing. Really, I know you’re shocked. I had my feet up on my desk, relaxing. I was on-call yesterday, so I really couldn’t commit to doing anything but sitting around waiting for the pager to go off – – which it did, incessantly. So I was at work, at home – working on graphic/web design for a client and I was burning a whole buncha CD’s (wouldn’t you like to know?). I must have burned 50 CD’s worth of stuff – – so the CD-ROM’s door was open and closed and open and closed all […]

Tahoe Memories

There we are – – on the mountain in Tahoe! That gorgeous scenery behind us is the mountains and Lake Tahoe itself – breathtaking, isn’t it?? 🙂
