Him n’ Her

Three Years Later..

When Chris first moved here back in June 2003 – he packed up all his stuff into a HUGE U-Haul truck and drove all the way from LA to Wisconsin. Behind the U-Haul truck, he towed his baby. A 1969 Mustang Convertible. Someday, she would be a beaut! At the moment, however – – he rolled her off the trailer and right into the garage – – piled her high with all of the various parts and pieces that he had purchased for her, as he intended on doing the restoration himself. That was June 2003. Yesterday, his baby was […]

Starting already

Are you ready for me to begin stressing over wedding plans yet? lol Nah, I won’t stress at all. Weddings aren’t worth stressing over. We’re not doing a big wedding either. Just something very simple, sweet, short and inexpensive. Never did understand the need folks have to spend thousands on their wedding day – – when that money can be well spent on the honeymooon! The honeymoon location is already set – – we just need to plan it. We’re trying to decide on a date and a location. I think we’re leaning more towards a wedding in New York […]

Home Sweet Home

We arrived home on Tuesday evening from absolutely Nowhere, Alabama. The lake house is gorgeous and we had a nice time relaxing all weekend long. And when I say relaxing – – I mean it. We were completely disconnected all weekend from Fri – Tuesday. No internet. No Phone. No cell phones. It wasn’t intentional. The DSL company was supposed to hook up our internet on Friday. They also happen to be the phone company down there – – and they didn’t show up until Tuesday morning to do the hook ups. So we were without any way to connect […]

Coffee?

Our espresso machine took a dump this week. We’re taking it to be serviced after the holiday. Chris just left to go out to Starbucks to get me a cup of coffee. Am I spoiled? 🙂 Yes. Yes, I am.

Ha. Ha.

Chris has a great sense of humor. ‘Tis one of the reasons I love him. This post explains it all. I just have to show this one to my mom – – it’ll stop all her questions.

What is love . . .

Love is . . . …missing the debates tonight because I have to pick him up from the airport. That’s not love! That is insanity! Ahem. I’m thankful for XM Satellite radio, channel number 121

Roll it

Chris and I have this thing that we do every once in awhile. It’s not a passion or anything – – just something the we’ll get in the mood for – and tonight, we’re headed out to do it. Yep. We’re going bowling. I love bowling – – I’m not a great bowler, but I can hold my own. We have so much fun going to the bowling alley – – drinking beer, eating pizza and bowling our brains out. Plus, it’s Friday night – – and around these parts that means Friday Fish Fry. I’m just waiting for him […]

It Won't Last Forever

For the past 2-3 months, as I’ve blogged, Chris has been out of town on business. Last week, he came home and will be here for 3-4 weeks. I missed him — but I know business is business, so I dealt with it. Every week, he would say – – “This phase will only last about 2 more months, baby – – then it will be done. It won’t be like this forever, I promise.” Ok. Tonight, I sat down next to him. He was working and had the TV on because he can’t work without background noise. I said, […]

Crack That Whip

Chris came home last night! In the past three months, he’s been travelling for business – – in either Atlanta, or LA, Mon-Fri and then home again on the weekends. This week, he came home on Wednesday and he’ll be home for 3 weeks this time! Wow – – what’s a girl to do with a man in the house?? (*panic*) Although, there is a reason he is home early. Thus begins the wrap up of my intensive training in SQL and database conversions, administration, etc, etc. Anyone do this stuff? Find it as dry and boring as I do?? […]

Weekends

Chris flew home last night! We’re going on three full months of being separated during the week. For the past three months, he works in either Atlanta or LA Monday through Friday – and comes home every weekend, only to fly back out Monday morning. It hasn’t been easy, to say the least – – but it’s a necessary evil. It’s a phase of their contract with their biggest client that is going to be coming to an end soon, as they enter the next phase of the 5-year contract. Once this phase is over, he’ll be home more — […]
