Added another harddrive, upgraded my processor, upgraded my motherboard – have a nifty new case with lots of fans and pretty lights …. spent the entire day rebuilding my computer system so now it rocks like never before. What’d you do today?

Or if you already have one … Don’t count on privacy. The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (“NTIA”) , the telecommunications and Internet arm of the Department of Commerce, has disallowed private registrations for .US domain names. This unfortunate decision was made by the NTIA, without a hearing or an opportunity for a response by those affected — in fact; there was no due process of any kind. When it rains . . it downpours
Well, obviously I’m back up and running after a, relatively, uneventful reformat and rebuild of my system. Whee, it’s nice to have a clean system that is functioning at it’s best performance! The rebuild is a pain in the but, however, the end result is SO worth it. Last night I was on call for Hospice – and it was a crazy night all the way through until this morning. I ended up going out for a patient’s death at 2am – got home at 4am, then the pager went off again at 4:15 am and off I went again. […]
Reformat Ready
I decided to do the reformat/rebuild tonight. Since tonight I’m on call for Hospice, it makes no sense for me to get deep into working on my many projects, I figured now would be a good time. Checklist: Back up successful and burned to CD All driver CD’s are present (monitor, sound card, video card, motherboard, etc) Took a screen shot of my Product ID #’s for various registered software (didn’t trust myself to write them down) and printed them out Backed up a gazillion fonts, photoshop and paintshop plugins, favorites and other items of necessity Have all program file […]
