Absent Blogger

I’ve been neglecting my blog badly – – pretty soon, someone is going to call Blog Protective Services (BPS) on me for neglect! I’m innocent, I’m tellin’ ya! Just busy, it seems – – web work has been keeping me hoppin’ like a madwoman. Between template orders, full site overhauls, and new site-wide designs — plus a few new web hosting clients . . and some work done for some friends & family. Can I quit my job yet? Sadly, not yet. Soon, though. . . soon. I’ll never all out quit nursing. I’ll stay working for my current employer […]

Top Movie Quote (with .wavs)

Week 6 of Blogger Idol has the topic of Movies. My contribution to the topic of the week is a compilation of some of my favorite quotes from movies – listed in no particular order: (Links open a .wav file) "This is your life, and it’s ending one second at a time." ~ Narrator (Fight Club) "In the heat of battle, my father wove a tapestry of obsenity that as far as we know, is still hanging in space over Lake Michigan." ~ (The Christmas Story) "Hey Goose, you big stud! Take me to bed or lose me forever! ~ […]

Picture – Picture

Here is your Astronomy Picture of the Day – A Patch of Spherules on Mars. Don’t know what those are? Neither did I until I read about it! The Big Picture Book of Viruses, is intended to serve as both a catalog of virus pictures on the Internet and as an educational resource to those seeking more information about viruses on the WWW. The New York Public Library has an online picture collection of 30,000 digitized images from books, magazines and newspapers as well as original photographs, prints and postcards, mostly created before 1923. Cool stuff here. What blog post […]

Give me some skin!

Since I’m laid up and bored — I’m sitting here thinking of redoing my template. Of course, it’s only 5 weeks old – so it seems a little premature. So, I’m setting about my way to learn how to skin the site then making a few new templates to skin with. Anyone have any good resources, please share – – otherwise, I’m on my way. Wish me luck!

Blogger Idol – The 80's

Found over at Morgan’s (the girl with the perfect lips) – – I followed a link over to Living Room about the Blogger Idol activity. Kinda coolish thing to do – so I figured I’d join in the fun, in addition – it will give me a little extra something to blog about when I’m running out of things for my fingers to do. This week’s Blogging Idol Topic: The 80’s. So, I’m thinking about an entry to do about the 80’s. Shouldn’t be that hard – – those were my high school years – – well, at least 1984 […]

Bloggin' Doc

One final blurf for the night. For reasons of extreme lack of graphic design creativity (umm…Designer’s Block?), when working on designing a web site for my newest client . . I decided to blurf the web. I decided to blog about my blurf that I found via Suzi – because the newest addition to my blogroll is a first. Bloggin’ Doc, if in fact he is a doctor….I have my doubts because no Orthopod I know has the time to blog. Not too mention that any Orthopod I know would consider blogging activity to be so far beneath them that […]

Dial up is King!

This will probably be the one and only time that you’ll ever, ever hear me say this, however . . . . Thank goodness for dial-up! Please, don’t order a public flogging for my saying so (…or on second thought. . . ). Why would I utter such obscenities? Because tonight, while Chris was updating the banned IP’s in our web server’s firewall. . . the huge, long text file of IP addresses, somehow, included our own. That’s right – we were locked out of our web server. Normally? No big deal – – email the server admin for a […]
