That’s Life

Weird Weather

Just went through the shortest tornado warning in my history of them. Storms are a’brewin’ here and it looked as if they were going to get pretty nasty. This is the storms from the south midwest of the country (Oklahoma, Missouri, etc) and I think the weather guys were worked up into a frenzy and called this one prematurely – – I can’t blame them, though. Better to be safe than sorry. As soon as the weather bells rang and the TV went nuts with the actual tornado warning – – I hearded myself and the kids downstairs. We got […]

Crazy Week!

This week has been a whirlwind, to say the least. Without going into much detail about it all – I can just say that this week has been a huge lesson in hypocrisy in regards to freedom of speech. My other website suffered a few coporate slams this week – – and I’m just hanging out and taking it all in and bouncing back appropriately. I’ve been working a lot this week in getting things ready for the big move at the end of this month. C. secured his moving truck for 5/26 – 6/2…so now that I actually have […]

The big 3-5!

Yes, that’s right – today is my birthday. I’ve been telling everyone all day that I’m 21, of course. However, the truth of the matter is that I’m 35. I recieved a home-made Lily from my son, with a certificate good for one hug. I also recieved a real, live yellow pansy in a pretty purple planter from my daughter with a certificate for one hug and one kiss. Absolutely perfect presents, if I do say so myself 🙂 I’ll be cashing in those certificates when they least expect it. I spent the afternoon painting my bathroom. About 2 years […]

Happy Days

Thought I’d start up again – just for my own piece of mind. A place to babble on about things that tug at my mind. There’s just so much going on in my life, I know that if I don’t take the time to sit and write about things going on – I’ll drive myself (and my friends and family) insane. The site that was once here was taken down a few months ago, while I paid attention to more important matters. Now it’s been reshaped into a calmer, more toned down version for my thoughts. There’s been so much […]

Coffee Shop Update 2

My coffee shop was officially sold last week and Gary now has full ownership. He has all the baristas announcing it to every customer who walks up to the counter – as if it’s ground breaking news. Usually (pre-Gary), I would walk in to get my coffee, the radio would be playing some REM or Nickleback…or sometimes Shakira or Norah Jones, the music always gave it a nice atmosphere. The other day I walked in and the music was blaring form the speakers (so much so that I almost had to scream my order at the barista) and they were […]

Feet up . . coffee in hand

Today wasn’t such a bad day to be thrown back into a work day after a long vacation. I thought it would be worse – but it was actually pretty easy. Woke up at 7 a.m. – got the kids off to school…made some coffee – – relaxed for a bit then got ready and left home about 8:30 and headed into the office until about 10 AM where I did absolutely nothing except talk about my vacation. Then headed up north to see my 5 patients – – of course each of them would be in some sort of […]

Hi ho! Hi ho! Off to work I go!

So much to catch up on now that I’m home from vacation-land. I had a blast – – it was TOO short and I wanna go back! lol Thank you so much, S. for the travel updates in my blog while I was away *HUGS* You did a truly awesome job of it! I loved the travel hints lol No worries, I didn’t eat any yellow snow – just beer. 🙂 C. and I had so much fun. Skiing has now become my new sport. I’m totally hooked on it. As much as I fell – – as sore as […]

Travel Update 2

**posted by Shae while I’m on vacation** Surfing through the clouds wasn’t nearly as easy as one would think it should be. The weather in Wisconsin hasn’t been the best, but then it is winter and Wisconsin. Yesterday Lisa mentioned they had five inches of new snow on the ground, little did we know it would alter her travel plans. She called me at 9:30 last night (her time) and was still on the ground in Chicago. I asked her why she was still in Chicago. She explained because of the snow she couldn’t fly out of Milwaukee as planned, […]

Too much to do!

drive myself nuts during times like these. When it feels like there is too much to do and not enough time left to do it. 1. Finish up my paperwork from the week to hand in by noon. 2. See my 4 patient’s up north. 3. See my other patient afterwards here in town – my cranky old guy. 4. Grocery shop a bit for the house sitter. 5. Get two sets of keys made for the house – one for Gary, one for Dad. 6. Finish tidying up the house. 7. Pack the remaining stuff for the trip. 8. […]

Coffee House Crisis

I have this coffee house I’ve been going to for 10+ years. They make the best coffee and sell my most favorite beans there….Panamanian – roasted by Alterra. I’ve gotten to know the owner quite well – – she sees me coming down the street and immediately begins to make my large latte with vanilla because she knows I never stray from my usual cup. About once a week she asks me if I need my weekly pound of beans yet….or will I be doing that later this week? It’s a comfort thing – – they know me, I know […]
