That’s Life

Whew

Well, the doc didn’t do the IUD thing. My normal doc referred me to an OB/GYN who told me that I could take the mini pill without the risk associated with the regular pill. Difference is — one has estrogen, and one does not. The mini pill doesn’t have estrogen – – so the risks associated with smoking aren’t there. Thank goodness — because I wasn’t looking forward to the whole IUD procedure!

Burning down the house

I’d love to say it wasn’t my fault. That my (sometimes) deeply rooted blonde hairs didn’t play a part in this. I wish I could foist the blame off onto someone else. That I could stand in front of those who love and care for me and point my finger at them and say “I did not start a fire with that carpet.” Sigh. I can’t say it – because it wouldnt’ be true. I started a fire in the fireplace early last night. Before I did that – I shovelled out some of the old ash that was left […]

My Flavour

Cor blimey, I taste like Tea. I am a subtle flavour, quiet and polite, gentle, almost ambient. My presence in crowds will often go unnoticed. Best not to spill me on your clothes though, I can leave a nasty stain. What Flavour Are You?

Breakfast comfort

When was the last time you had a nice, steaming hot bowl of oatmeal for breakfast? Laced with brown sugar and then drowned in milk? I mean the kind of oatmeal that you cook on the stove in a kettle – – not in a bowl in the microwave? I highly recommend it! *yummy*

Day off – shoulda got more done

I had the day off work today – – received some much deserved ‘comp time’. I really should have gotten more done today – – but, Chris and I had other plans. We spent the day in our state’s capital – Madison. Not really doing anything special – – just decided to up and go and make a day of it. It was really a beautiful day — the lake was gorgeous and we ate lunch at a place called Ella’s Deli – which is a kosher deli and ice cream parlor that has awesomely delicious sandwiches. It was a […]

Spreading love and peace

So I’m driving home from work today…. obeying the 30 MPH speed limit, listening to talk radio (subject: Opposition to the implementation of a Light Rail system here in Milwaukee..)…Minding my own business. At an intersection where I clearly have the right of way – – this guy in a Minivan makes a sharp turn in front of me, completely cutting me off. I came inches from this guys rear side panel and slammed my brakes on. Hard. I laid on my horn to let him know I wasn’t thrilled…that’s when he turned and flipped me off and I could […]

Monday Monday

Another week of work facing me. Our office has been so busy the past few weeks – none of us can see straight. Generally, an RN Case Manager in our office has no more than 12 patients on their caseloads. We’re required to see those patients at least twice a week (more if their condition requires it). So, usually we do about 24 – 28 one-hour visits per week. Leaving the remainder of our forty-hour workweek for drive time (usually about 250 – 300 miles per week), meetings and paperwork requirements. The past 3-4 weeks, however – we had a […]

Weekend business

Picked C. up from the airport last night – he’s finally back from Atlanta and doesn’t have to go back for about a month. This will be good – – time to get a lot of things out and talked about and aired. And if last night was any indication, my sex life will be back to smokin’! *wiggle* So, blogging will probably be minimal over the weekend – – while we get caught up 🙂 Happy weekend to everyone.

Horoscope

Taurus – Week of Sept. 25th During my recent visit to the Burning Man festival, I faced a dicey dilemma: what to do with my eyes as I talked with the many women who wore no clothes above the waist? At first I steadfastly kept my gaze from dipping below their necks. Then I decided that was silly; if they were strongly opposed to me looking at their breasts, they wouldn’t be naked. On the other hand, I didn’t want to be sneaky, stealing furtive glances when they were momentarily distracted. Ultimately, I asked each woman for permission to indulge […]
