Who needs a treadmill when you’ve got a 1/2 mile long driveway full of heavy snow that takes 1 1/2 hours to shovel away?
Today, it’s a balmy 27 degrees outside. I had to make a trip to the Post Office to pick up a check that was Fed Ex’d from a client of mine in Japan. Apparently, they tried to deliver it to my home last week and don’t attempt again . . so I had to make the 5 minute trip to the Post Office. Woe is me!
When I got home, for some strange reason, I decided that the driveway needs shoveling. This is no small feat – – we have a looonnnnngggg ass driveway. But, since it was so warm – – I figured it would be great exercise.
An hour and a half later (still without my first cup of coffee of the day) I finished up – – laid some rock salt all over the place so it doesn’t freeze over night and walked in the warm house wondering what the hell was I thinking?? I have two teenagers for crying out loud!
But, I feel energized and invigorated in a way that only good exercise and fresh, cold crisp winter air can do. Now, I have my cup of hot coffee. My cat, Bubba, snuggled around my feet under my desk. AC/DC blasting my speakers . . . it’s a good day so far!
She was a fast machine . . she kept her motor clean . . she was the best damn woman that I have ever seen..
Hey Lisa, thanks for dropping by today!
(ps: that’s one of my favourite ACDC songs — Guess I’m dating myself)
That’s quite a feat you undertook BEFORE coffee today! Sheesh… Sounds like it got you going, anyhow!
:”> Wow girl, I was impressed! I don’t do anything before coffee in the morning. I also read all your Christmas preparations and you’re my new hero. Michele sent me and it was a lovely visit!
OMG, hasn’t it been bloody cold? And I found myself shovelling the other day and I thought, “Wait! Didin’t I have three kids just for this reason?”
Apparently not.
I’ve got some of the VERY same shots of the kids atop the Empire State Bdg. Too funny!
Kimber, who has three of her own furry foot warmers herself
Hey Kimber ๐
Hey – – are you me?
Because I have three of the furry foot warmers in my house too! :-j
Hey Lisa!,
No, I don’t think I’m as fab as you, just a log time linky responder who still reads your bloggie and ALMOST never responds. LOSER! I know!
This, of course, is written after pushing a cat off my laptop.
Well, we sure have a lot in common then, Kimber ๐
Three cats. Kids on top of the Empire State Building. Frigid cold temps outside.
I guess great gals of a feather flock together . . er..or something :)>-
Brrr. And I thought it was cold here. I love snow, but don’t like shoveling it. Of course, now that I live in Georgia I don’t have to worry anymore.
eV
p.s.
Michele sent me.
One of AC/DC’s bst
I’m sure you can find something for the teenagers to do instead ๐
michele sent me
eV – last time I checked it was 40 in Atlanta. Now that is a tropical heatwave as far as I am concerned ~:>
You’re driveway’s nothing!!!!! One trip up and down mine with the Bobcat and blower takes a half hour! If shoveling is even an option you have a short driveway! ๐ก
Sounds like you’ve got me beat, Astro – – I’d hate to live at your house when your normal snow removal equipment takes a shit. lol:-s
One of our first years we got drifted in. It was over three feet deep so I had to have one of our guys come out with a front end loader to dig out our driveway. I think he started about 8:30 in the morning, and it was well after dinner before he got far enough that we could make a run for it through the good part and get out. We forgot to take pictures of the snowfall right away that year, but my mom thought of it a couple days later and took a picture. It got pretty warm and started melting after the storm, but the snow piles were still quite a bit taller than her expedition…
you have nice boobs
