Where have I been?

It’s been three days since I’ve posted here. Where oh where have I been?

I’ll tell ya – when Spring hits Wisconsin, it hit hard this year! We’ve been having upper 70’s to low 80’s weather around here. This snuck up and gave me a big surprise. So OF COURSE I had to go to the garden shop!! It’s one of my most favorite places in the entire world.

I picked up 40 lbs of fertilizer for the lawn. Some grass seed to spread around to fill in some of the bald spots. I also picked up about 4 geraniums, 3 pots of pansies and some other flower pots with purple flowers that I can’t readily identify – but they were beautiful.

I filled all the pots that line the steps to the deck – – took out all the dead sticks from last year – re-fertilized the soil and planted the new flowers. Then headed down to my garden and spent 2-3 hours weeding all the ugly weeds out that were growing in between my daffodils, tulips, irises and other various and sundry flowers and goodies. My Poppies are growing up, slow but sure. And my Peony bushes are beginning to bloom.

I absolutely LOVE this time of year!

I have so much work to do this weekend – but I have a feeling that I’ll be out in the yard more often than not. So, if I owe you any work (you know who you are) – please just bear with me while I bask in the sun of the re-birth of my lawn & garden!
