Oh Man . . .

lsw-x

. . . all I can say is YUM!

With this high protein diet I’m on – I’m trying new things to increase my daily protein intake (no wise cracks, guys – I’ve already heard it!).

I bought tuna steaks. Unsure what to do with them, I decided to wing it.

I marinated 4 of them for 30 minutes in:

1/4 cup lemon juice
2 crushed fresh garlic cloves
2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 cup light olive oil

After marinating for 30 minutes – – I tossed them on the grill outside. About 10 minutes per side (flipping only once). Once done – I sprinkled them with a bit of dill and served with snap beans w/ garlic.

I’m stuffed! It was incredibly good, if I do say so myself.

With Chris out of town on a biz trip this week – – – I have to taunt him. YOURS is in the fridge, sweetie. I’ll be having it for lunch tomorrow. Enjoy room service 😛

  1. 10 minutes per side!! oi vey! sounds overcooked! tuna is best served very rare (my opinion). you can eat it pretty much raw, you know? anyhoo, i have no doubt it was delicious with the dill, lemon, and pepper. do you use a gas grill or charcoal? i know, i am epi(way to)curious. i love food. and i love to cook.

  2. Uh oh. It actually sounds like you overcooked your fish. Believe it or not, tuna is supposedly best seared and cooked rare. It’s hard to get a regular grill hot enough to sear it, so the way I’ve heard that it’s best done is to get your charcoal chimney starter going really good, put a small grill on it, and then cook the tuna on your chimney starter rather than the grill… 😎
