Notes from Georgia

Ok. It’s the south. AND IT’S COLD! Why did I have the impression that Atlanta would be warm? It’s almost as cold here as it was when we left home! And speaking of home – – talk about one great big injustice . . it snowed at home. Yep – snow. They have snow. Not only that – but while I’m here in Georgia, I download my mail and get one from or local ski hill. They’ve been making snow all week…blah blah blah – – couple that with the 12 degree weather. . . blah blah blah – – […]

Streeeeeeeeeetch!

We’re here and it only took us 15 hours to make the drive. Doesn’t sound like a long time, but once you put your foot to the pedal and make the drive . . it seems like it took days and days! Let me just start by saying that at 3am in the morning, when you’ve been driving for hours and still have more hours to drive, I know that stopping at “Waffle House” for a quick bite to eat may sound like a good idea . . . but resist the urge. Consider that advice my little favor to […]

Better late than never . . .

You Are Pumpkin Pie Even when people are full – they make room for you. Good or bad, your smell is most likely to arouse a man. What Part of Thanksgiving Are You? (quiz nabbed from Mark.)

Well, that didn't work

Fine resolve I have, hey? I wrote that last post – – then at 7:30, fell asleep. Sheesh. It was a good thing I didn’t have big plans today! I woke up at-I-am-not-going-to-say-when, got coffee and got some work done for a print project I’ve been recently hired to do. I’m very exicted about this contract – – it’s huge and promises to be long. Those are the kinds of contracts Lisa likes! 😀 We’re heading over to Mom’s for Turkey Day tomorrow – which means I HAVE to get some sleep tonight. Can anyone say Nytol? If only pot […]

Holiday Spirit

I heard on the TV today that there are only 40 shopping days left until Xmas! FOURTY! 4. 0. Four. Zero. Ok – where did the time go? Who took it? Exactly WHO made off with the time? To get myself into the holiday spirit (and to gear myself up for all that shopping!) – I decorated myself. Well, my blog, anyways. Hopefully this will spark your holiday spirit, too!

Labor Day

Off to the usual, annual Labor Day cook out at Mom’s today. It’s also the day that we celebrate her birthday – which is on Sept. 2nd. She turned 61 this year – – is she getting old . . . or am I? Hmm. . . I think we’re both just aging well.. . and let’s leave it at that. We usually do this cook out on Labor Day, itself – but this year, schedules were conflicted – – so we all decided on the Sunday before. Is it over yet?? I tolerate these family cookouts about as well […]

Hotter than Georgia Asphalt in the Summer!

Reporting from the heart of the deep south here. I’m in Atlanta and checking email, and such. Let me just confirm that Georgia asphalt in the summer is damned hot! Firstly, for those of you who submitted emails and requests for graphic work – you should have received an email confirming the reciept of said email and explaination that graphic work and designing shall resume on Monday when I return back to the safe confines of my own home. For those who have submitted orders for hosting accounts – – those have been set up and you should have received […]

Home Depot, Chelle and Benadryl.

Today is the day! I’m headed down to Atlanta for the weekend for software training. Before that fun begins, though (which really doesn’t start until Saturday) – Chris is taking me on a tour of Home Depots Corporate offices (woohoo – every girls dream), which is where he’s been spending all of his time, lately – slaving away for the big orange sign. After that, we’re headed down to Macon to have dinner with Chelle and Joe! I am SO looking forward to that! Chelle – if you’re reading this – – baby, I’ve got your number! 😉 It’s programmed […]

WHEW!

They are gone! Don’t get me wrong – – we had a great weekend and it was good to see them again. However…… There is NOTHING like that feeling of when everyone leaves…the house is quiet….and you know that you have NO MORE entertaining to do. Our 4th of July BBQ/Party went well yesterday – – even the weather cooperated, seeing as how it rained all night Saturday and most of the morning on Sunday. The skies cleared around noon and stayed that way well into the evening. Things I learned giving my first part for 25+ people: –> I […]

No Time Like the Present!

We’ve lived in this particular house for over a year. Wouldn’t it just be THIS weekend, on the VERY night that our friends from Atlanta & California come for a weekend stay..for the FIRST time since we’ve lived here….that our plumbing would choose THIS night to back the fuck up? We had a great dinner. Chris grilled baby back ribs with Jack Daniels BBQ sauce (if you haven’t tried it, you MUST!) Martinis and Bloody Mary’s were flowing freely and we all sat outside in the backyard and yacked all night long. The weather was perfect. The tiki torches were […]
