7 Hours In Aruba

We honeymooned from 6/25 – 7/7 in Bonaire, South America.. it’s a small island that is part of the Dutch Antilles. (Part of the “ABC” islands: Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao). It was really a beautiful trip. We started out in Newark and flew direct to Aruba, where we had a 7 hour layover. In those 7 hours, we rented a car and drove around the little island of Aruba (it took us all of 20 minutes to make a round trip, I swear) and found a very nice (read: air conditioned) place to stop and lunch. (note: we didn’t find […]

Anam Cara – The Friend of Your Soul

In the Celtic tradition, there is a beautiful understanding of love and friendship. One of the fascinating ideas here is the idea of soul love; “Anam Cara” may sound like some new French perfume, but it actually refers to the Celtic spiritual belief of souls connecting and bonding . In Celtic Spiritual tradition, it is believed that the soul radiates all about the physical body what some refer to as an aura. When you connect with another person and become completely open and trusting with that individual, your two souls begin to flow together. Should such a deep bond be […]

Nervous About Flying.. Me?

So, yea… in about 9 hours, I’ll be on a plane headed towards Austin to do my part at SXSW Interactive. If you’ve been reading me for any amount of time, you all know that I would rather peel my fingernails off and dip my fingers in salt water than get on a plane and fly anywhere. Somehow, I manage. I think it’s the 3 Benadryl’s with a Martini chaser that gets me through. As nervous as I am about flying, I’m excited and really looking forward to this thing. I get to buy a round of drinks for Peter, […]

Be Mine

This new pinkness is the extent of my celebration of the ‘overly commercialized day of the year when you are supposed to let the ones you love know how much you love them, because doing it the other 364 days a year just isn’t good enough‘ holiday – otherwise known as Valentine’s Day. Oooo.. do I sound jaded? A girl with, perhaps, too few valentine’s in her life? Nah. When everyday is valentine’s day – who needs a card on Feb 14th? The pinkness here on this blog is my valentine to you – those who stop by on a […]

Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe Originally uploaded by LSRN94. This picture was taken in 2002 on our ski trip to Lake Tahoe. I haven’t skied yet ONCE this year… I ran across this one and damn near cried. Boo hoo hoo! We’re going skiing on Saturday – – If I have to go by my damn self, dammit! The scenery in Tahoe, though? Damn – ya just can’t beat it!

Sweating in 5 feet of snow!

WHEW! Things that got done this weekend: I baked 3 dozen of 5 different kinds of Christmas cookies (that’s 180 cookies!), made batch of homemade Hot Buttered Rum mix to freeze and enjoy throughout the winter, and made a big batch of homemade eggnog to enjoy throughout the holidays One dozen of each go to my mother (she gives me 5 dozen – 1 dozen each of 5 different kinds. That way – we each of 10 different kinds of Christmas cookies). Another dozen of each went to Atlanta with Chris for his employee Christmas party this week Got the […]

NYPD

NYPD Originally uploaded by LSRN94. Just a normal day for NYPD on duty in front of the New York Stock Exchange. I know my small town cops don’t look like this – at first I thought they were S.W.A.T
