Fun N’ Frolic

Sucker for Marketing.. Me?

My teenaged daughter has turned into a real smarty pants.  I wonder where she gets that from?  We have the strangest conversations. I took her grocery shopping with me this evening.  While there – our age difference was evident.  I picked up Orange Roughy, asparagus, artichokes, among other healthy foods – complete with sugar-free jello to try and tame my overly-sweet sweet tooth.  She picked up chips, pizzas, corn dogs (ugh!), ice cream bars and something called a “Rock Star” energy drink. Apparently she has an opinion on everything.  I bought olive oil because I ran out and I cook […]

Head above water

Been awhile since I posted – and yes, I am still alive. The book is going really well and I’m up against my second hard deadline coming up on March 1st. On that date, the book will be officially 50% complete… so I”m getting there. This project is taking way more of my time than I initially thought it would, so that’s why you’re not seeing me here much of late.. but I do appreciate the emails asking if I’m still upright and breathing. I’m here to say that I am. 🙂 Some exciting news – I gave Chris an […]

Are you Ready to Rumble?

All work and no play makes Lisa… really boring. I have BIG plans tomorrow involving my sofa, the big screen, popcorn and beer. Tomorrow is the big day, can you even stand it? GO COLTS! Hey, I’m a Wisconsin girl, you didn’t really expect me to root for da’Bears, did ya? I’m almost looking foward to half time as much as the game, itself. Prince is the half time show. I saw some interview on E! with I don’t know who, someone.. anyways – they said that the only way they could get Prince to do halftime was if he […]

Happy Valley by SugarRayDodge

I have a pal who has written a book. His name is Dave – and some of you know him as SugarRayDodge. Recently home from Iraq, by way of Germany – currently in Idaho on his way to the East Coast. This guy seriously gets around – and he’s got a great new vehicle to do it in. Anyways.. he mailed me a complimentary copy of his book Happy Valley as a Christmas present (thank you, Dave!). I now have reading material for our drive out to NYC on Thursday – W00T! I’m looking forward to it.. if you’ve ever […]

Winter Fun

In the midst of all the hustle and bustle going on around here – we had a change to hit the slopes a few times in the past week… preparing for our big family ski vacation in Vermont, coming up in just a short week! Yay! Here’s a really BAD picture of my daughter, Melissa, and I getting off the ski lift – Chris took the shot with my Casio Exilim – – the lighting was bad and we were moving to fast for a good shot, but here it is: Here’s a few closeups of the kid and I […]

Grooooove, Baby

I gots me some groove. Thanks Jeanette, but I didn’t even need Barry White for this… but thanks for playin’ *k* I was up at the crack of dawn this morning… 5am. And no, it’s not because I didn’t sleep and stayed up that late… this wasn’t one of my insomniac rages. I actually woke up because of a bad dream that I just cannot talk about – – it was just that disturbing to me. Uck. Up at 5am. Showered by 5:20. Coffee by 5:30. Launched two blogs and got two creative mock ups out to two clients by […]

Baby It's COLD Outside!

Yesterday, I started getting weather alerts, via Firefox, for my general location. (I use the 1-Click Weather extension) – – these alerts were telling me of winter storm warning advisories for my area. I was THRILLED! Of course this means we can hit the slopes tomorrow! w00t! So, I worked late into the evening last night to get some work done – including the launch of my brand spanking new redesign over at EWebscapes – that puppy is done and dusted, for the moment. Still tweaking, though… endlessly tweaking. Anyways – here are some pretty Wisconsin winter photos snapped right […]

Manamanah

It looks like it’s going to be one of those days. I’m sorry to have to do this to you – but I think my head will explode if I don’t share this with you today. Right here. Right now. My apologies, in advance.

Snow, Beautiful Snow!

I’m THRILLED to report that it is that time of year again – – and as an extra added treat, it has come much earlier than usual. Keeping my fingers crossed that it actually sticks this year! Last years snowfall was pathetic and our family skiing season passes virtually went to waste last year. My daugher, Melissa, snapped this photo of this years first snowfall – she’s just as excited as I am about it. We’ve got fires buring in both fireplaces tonight – and I’ll be falling asleep to dreams of the black diamonds. One can only hope!

Yummy Goodness

Did you know…. if you dip your finger in a jar of peanut butter and pull out a huge glob of it on your fingertip… Then… Dip that same peanut butter covered finger into a bag of chocolate chips…. The eat it all off your finger all at once… You have yourself a homemade peanut butter cup. Without the cup part – – but still just as tasty, if not more so because it feels LOTS more sinful than Reeses. Don’t ask me how I know – I just do. I now share it with you, because we’re friends. You’re […]
