Good, Bad and Ugly

Popped these up in my email earlier this morning — some of them enough to make a person squirm! Good: You’re pregnant. Bad: It’s triplets. Ugly: Your husband had a vasectomy five years ago. Good: Your husband is not talking to you. Bad: He wants a divorce. Ugly: He’s a lawyer. Good: Your son is finally maturing. Bad: He’s involved with the woman next door. Ugly: So are you. Good: Your son studies a lot in his room. Bad: You find several pornographic movies hidden there. Ugly: You’re in them. Good: Your hubby and you agree, no more kids. Bad: […]

Bad Humor Day

An intrepid photographer went to a haunted castle determined to get a picture of a ghost which was said to appear only once in a hundred years. Not wanting to frighten off the ghost, the photographer sat in the dark until midnight when the apparition became visible. The ghost turned out to be friendly and consented to pose for one snapshot. The happy photographer popped a bulb into his camera and took the picture. After dashing into his studio, the photographer developed the negative and groaned. It was underexposed and completely blank. Moral: The spirit was willing, but the flash […]

Vacationing girl

We had a blast – but we were busy! Man – we were busier than I am during a normal work week. We went on vacation with Dan & Tammy (Dan is Chris’s business partner). Tammy happens to be one of those people who can’t relax on vacation and NEEDS to be doing something every minute of the time. Oy! It was fun, though. Flew into LA on Thursday night – – and the plane didn’t even crash, like I thought it would! But the Valium and martinis worked like a charm. (even though I HATE gin). Friday morning, we […]

We are Outta here!

You won’t see me blogging over the next week. We’re headed to California for some much needed rest and relaxation! I’m putting my flying fears behind me (yea right) and hopping on that plane (scream!) and flying across the country to spend time with friends and just generally veg out. I will find myself at a computer at least once a day because I need to keep an eye on the webserver and make sure that no one is having any issues with their accounts. Maybe…just maybe, I’ll pop in here and post a picture or two of vacation things […]

Commitment-phobe

Last ski season, I had a talk with the senior Ski Patrol at the hill we frequent. Because I’m an RN and know how to ski pretty well, he talked with me about joining the National Ski Patrol. It sounded really good, at the time. I just received an email from them with the course syllabus – which looks like basic outdoor emergency care/first aid. The certification course runs every Thursday from July 8 – Nov 4 with a long final exam on the following Saturday. The Thursday night courses are from 6:30pm – 10pm. Busy as I am with […]

Summerfest

Every year, I try to make it down to Summerfest, here in Milwaukee. I think last year was the first year in a long, long time that I didn’t actually make it down because I was moving into the new house that whole month. The fest is days filled with food, drink beer, people and a tremendous variety of music seeping out of absolutely everywhere – – all down on our glorious lakefront. We generally hope the sun is out – – but the place is just as packed in the rain. Sean H., who is damned near next door […]

That's it!

God Diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder In a diagnosis that helps explain the confusing and contradictory aspects of the cosmos that have baffled philosophers, theologians, and other students of the human condition for millennia, God, creator of the universe and longtime deity to billions of followers, was found Monday to suffer from bipolar disorder. Almighty mood swings would explain quite a lot. Found via One Girl’s Life
