Thank you ~ by Dido
“..And even if my house falls down now, I wouldn’t have a clue – because you’re near me.
I want to thank you.. for giving me the best day of my life…”
Even as a self-employed chick working from home – Fridays still rock. There may not be that sense of ‘closing up’ for the weekend, or ‘going home’ to enjoy a few days off – – truth is, being self-employed – you just never really do leave the office. But, there just is something about Fridays that makes you want to take a deep breath.. sit back and relax.
I have no grand plans for the weekend. The weather is getting colder around here – so I think this weekend is a good one to make sure we have the firewood stocked and ready to go. I love to have fires blazing in our fireplaces throughout the winter. Which reminds me, I need to get the chimney sweep guy over here soon.. I obsess about all that buildup in the chimneys and the subsequent risk of chimney fires.
It’s one of the biggest reasons I love living in Wisconsin and couldn’t live in a warmer climate – at least not happily. I adore the change of seasons and am pretty positive I would not be satisfied living somewhere like Arizona, Florida or any other warm location because I would miss the changing of leaves in the fall, the beautiful way the morning sun makes a new fallen snow glisten like diamonds in my front yard or the growth of new flowers in the springtime. I think Fall is my favorite season, by far. There’s something very cozy about Fall.
Although, I am already dreaming about hitting the slopes this winter – hoping for some actual decent snowfall this year.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
I love Fridays — but then I get the wrapping up to go home feeling. Of course, there’s always the unwrapping on Mondays. (sigh) Ah well.
As for snow, I love the stuff. But I’m ever so glad I don’t have to drive in it. 🙂
I’m the same way. I work at home, but there is still a nice satisfaction in walking out of the office on a Friday afternoon.
I worked out of my home-office a long time ago, for about six months. It had its advantages (not having to dress up to go to work!), but yes, there is a certain amount of satisfaction in finishing work and “walking out of the office” that is lacking at the end of the day and on weekends!
