After 2AM

lsw-x

Last night, I didn’t sleep at all. Last night.. meaning Sunday to Monday. I was up until 6:30am Monday morning before I actually called it a ‘night’ on Sunday… does that make sense? It does to me. I was up all night collating, sorting, punching and binding training documents that Chris needed for his business meeting in Chicago at 9am. Why? Because he didn’t start writing the training documents until about 2pm on Sunday and finished printing them out around 4am. I spent 2.5 hours in the wee hours of the morning playing secretary to the man I love.

Now that’s love, isn’t it? at 6:30, I made him coffee and set him out the door with his training documents in hand… threatening him within an inch of his life if he messed them up between here and the conference center. Then I got the kids up and on the bus. Climbed into bed, and wouldn’t you know … I couldn’t fall asleep for the LIFE of me. I sat up in bed watching the news… hoping it would bore me to sleep. Which it eventually did at 8am.

It’s 2:30 am now. I have one design left to complete and sign off on before leaving on our vacation on Thursday. It’s sooooooo close to being done! And I’d really love to stay up and finish this puppy and then have the next 2.5 days free to organize for the trip.

But it’s 2:30am. You know it’s time for bed when scrolling in your browser gives you motion sickness and makes you dizzy. Someone give me a ring at around 8am CST to drag my sorry butt outta bed, please?

  1. Charlie! LOL – I got your email on my E.Webscapes contact form, too :p Leanne actually called three times this morning and finally got my butt up at 9. Thanks! 🙂

Soapbox – I totally feel hung over. Got coffee? /:)

  2. I need to get a wife like that. No, wait! I have a wife. I don’t want another — and no, I don’t want to trade this one in, either. She’s what I want.

I guess I’m stuck doing all that kind of stuff myself, for both of us. By profession, she is in IT/telephony. Me? Who knows. The Army told me many moons ago I am a Jack-of-All-Trades-and-Master-of-None. That suits me just fine. Twenty years of writing and editing on a daily basis, designing news pages on paper and on-screen, yeah, I got a little of this, a little of that.

Now I do strictly freelance. I do what I want, for those I want, on the timeline I want. No boss, no unwanted deadline, no unacceptable payscale. Ever.
