Elizabeth Edwards was diagnosed with cancer yesterday – on a day when her husband and John Kerry were conceeding the Presidential race. Wow – talk about a double whammy. This is really sad. From what I’ve read, her type of cancer is non-fatal with early treatment – however, that generally involved chemo/radiation or, at worst, surgical treatment. 2 years of watching this election campaign. I watched all of it – – the coverage, the stump speeches, the debates – from both sides. Victory!!

In 1992, Bill Clinton had 42.93% of the popular vote. 49.24% in 1996. President Bush now enjoys the highest popular vote than any President in the history of this nation. Ever. That, my friends, is what you call a mandate President Bush has 51% of the popular vote in 2004. Is that legitimate enough for the Dems in this country? To say that I’m a nervous freak today is putting it lightly. I’ll be watching the returns tonight with my fingers crossed and my hopes high.
