About Me.
During business hours, I am the Chief Operating Officer and partner at WebDevStudios, a full service website development and design agency.
I am also the author of WordPress For Dummies, and several other books in the For Dummies™ series around web design, development and WordPress. I've enjoyed a fulfilling career in the WordPress industry for the past 18-years.
Outside of business hours, I am a casual baker, gardener, Alice in Wonderland fan, and a not-so-casual Green Bay Packers football fan.

Since 2006, I have been writing books on the WordPress platform for the For Dummies™ series from Wiley Publishing. My books are distributed world-wide in multiple languages - that is mostly due to the overwhelming popularity of the WordPress platform, which currently powers 30/% of all websites you view on the web today!

Business.
I have been involved in several business ventures in my career. I founded a yoga studio and ran that for a couple of years. I founded a WordPress Design Agency back in 2003, when WordPress first started to become popular. I also ran a WordPress Theme company for a few years.
In 2012, when my WordPress Design Agency became so busy that I couldn't do it on my own any longer, I got in touch with a colleague, Brad Williams, who was running a WordPress Development Agency. I thought our two talents would really compliment one another: Design + Development.
That was 11 years ago, and today I am still a co-owner and Chief Operating Officer at WebDevStudios. I joined in 2012, and liked it so much I decided to stay!

Headed to Austin for SXSW 2009
‘m leaving this morning – hopping a flight in Milwaukee and arriving in Austin around 3pm for the SXSW Interactive Festival this weekend. I’m excited to go and looking forward to seeing everyone there. It’s been a lot of hard work and several sleepless nights over the past few weeks preparing for the activities at SXSW – but I made it! I got done what needed to get done and now all I have to do is get there! I just fired off an email to my friends at ServerBeach with the 5 premium WordPress themes that they will be giving away at their exhibit booth..

I’ve been spending the past 2 weeks preparing for my trip to the SXSW Interactive Festival in Austin, TX. This will be my third trip down to Austin for SXSW and I’m really looking forward to attending this year. Normally, there’s always a great deal to do before I take off for 5 days to attend the biggest geek gathering ever! I normally work long hours to make sure that all my client projects are either done, or well on their way to done and make sure everything I need on my home PC is set up for remote access, etc, etc. THIS year, however – it’s been a bit more crazy than usual because I’ve been working on developing five (5) premium WordPress themes that will be released at SXSW at the ServerBeach exhibit booth..
